Biography/History note | Anne-Marie Slaughter, also known as Anne-Marie Burley (b. September 27, 1958), is an international lawyer, foreign policy analyst, political scientist and public commentator. She graduated from St. Anne's-Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1976; received a B.A. from Princeton University in 1980; a Master of Philosophy in 1982 and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1992, both from Oxford University; and a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1985. Slaughter served on the faculty at the University of Chicago Law School, Harvard Law School, and Princeton University; and was dean of the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University. She also worked as Director of Policy Planning for the United States Department of State. Slaughter is the current President and CEO of New America, and former president of the American Society of International Law. |
