Biography/History note | François Collignon (approximately 1610-1687) was a French engraver, print seller, and publisher. After serving a four-year apprenticeship in the studio of Jacques Callot, Collignon settled in Rome, where he played a major role in the publication of Italian artistic prints. He was involved with works by renowned artists Pietro Testa, Cornelis Bloemaert, Simon Vouet, François Spierre, Nicolas Pérelle and Jean Le Pautre. |
