Served in the state senate 1836 to 1840. Elected as liutenant governor of Kentucky 1844-1848, then ran unsuccessfully for governor of Kentucky. Filled a vacancy in the U. S. Senate September 1, 1852 until March 3, 1855. Returned to Henderson County where he resumed his law practice; later moved to Paducah. Died April 23, 1876 in Henderson County.) |
