Miss Sarah Swartwout of Deer Park, Orange Co., N.Y., 6/14/1814; settled on and eventually inherited his father's farm at Owasco; elected to Assembly of N.Y., 1828-30; justice of the peace; was senior major general in the state militia and commanded the military escort which accompanied Lafayette through N.Y. on his last visit to America, 1824; removed to a farm in New Haven township, Huron Co., Ohio, 1838; elected to Congress in 1843, but was taken sick; b. 9/23/1787; d. 4/30/1844)
