German Wikipedia, viewed June 24, 2020 (Ignaz Heinrich von Wessenberg; Ignaz Heinrich Karl, Freiherr von Wessenberg; born November 4, 1774, in Dresden; died August 9, 1860, in Konstanz; Roman Catholic theologian; member of the Swabian aristocracy and proponent of the Enlightenment; he was known for his work in church reform; in 1802, he was appointed Generalvikar of the diocese of Konstanz, though he was not ordained as priest until 1812. In 1822, the cathedral chapter of the new archdiocese of Freiburg elected him as bishop, but he was never installed in this office due to the foreseeable resistance from Rome)
