Oxford DNB online, 10 Mar. 2014: under entry for his father John Wood, bap. 1704, d. 1754 (this son, another John Wood was born in Bath and baptized in Bath Abbey on 25 February 1728; he was evidently trained by his father and showed his competence early enough to oversee the building of Liverpool town hall from 1749 to 1754; he continued in Bath where his father had left off and completed the Circus and continued the layout of the immediate surrounding area, with its climaxes in the Royal Crescent (1767-75) and the New Assembly Rooms (1769-71); he died 16 June 1781)

Wikipedia, 10 Mar. 2014 (John Wood, the Younger was an English architect, working principally in the city of Bath, Somerset; he was the son of the architect John Wood, the Elder; he was born in 1728, the year his father moved to Bath, and was baptised in Bath Abbey; he began his independent career by developing and extending his father's work in Bath and spent the next decades designing new buildings, terraces and architectural set-pieces for the city of Bath; his designs were highly influential during the 18th century and the Royal Crescent is considered to be one of the best examples of Georgian Neo-Classical architecture in Britain; it appears that he did not share his father's interest in druidism and freemasonry; he died 16 or 18 June 1781)
