Sir George Aston, who as an officer of the Royal Marine Artillery served as a soldier and sailor in many actions and also became an author and correspondent of The Times of London, died here today at the age of 77; served in Sudan in 1884, in South Africa, and cammanded expeditions to Ostend and Dunkirk in 1914, and the recipient of many military honors; professor of fortification at the Royal Naval College from 1896 until 1899, formerly a member of the Foreign Intelligence Committee of the Admiralty and for three years was Intelligence Officer of the Mediterranean Fleet, employed in the secretariat of the War Cabinet from 1918 until 1919, and was aide de camp to the King from 1911 until 1917; devoted the last years of his life to writing)
