Paul Getty Museum (website), viewed Feb. 9, 2021: Francesco Paolo Michetti (Italian artist b. 1851 in Tocco da Casauria [Pescara Province] Italy; d. 1929 in Francavilla al Mare, Italy; studied at the Naples Academy, returning to the Abruzzo region, his emotional and aesthetic inspiration, in 1869; exhibited at the Paris Salons of 1872 and 1875; in 1883 he purchased a convent as his home and studio. For the next twenty years, the convent was a meeting place for Abruzzo's artists and exponents of culture, including writer Gabriele D'Annunzio.
