Telle, Joachim. "Zum Filius Sendivogii Johann Hartprecht," in Die Alchemie in der europäischen Kultur- und Wissenschaftsgeschichte, 1986 : pp. 119-120 (Johann Hartprecht; published under Filius Sendivogii and J.F.H.S.) p. 123-27 (named Hautnorthon and/or Harprecht by bibliographers and historians; named Josophat Fridericus Hautnortton by editor of 1658 edition of Lucerna; J.F.H.S. abbreviation for Josophat Firdericus Hautnorthon Suecus; identified as Swedish in one source; identified as son of Johann Harprecht, professor at Tübingen, born 1610 by another; initials J.F.H.S. abbreviation for Johannes Filius Haprechti Svevus; Filius Sendivogii also known as Johann Hartprecht and Johann Fortitudo Hartprecht, Johann Harprecht Starke; in another tradition from Erfurt; in England 1650-1653/1654, Latvia 1656, Denmark 1656/57, Netherlands 1657, and England again 1657/59) p. 130 (references to Harprecht in 1661 and 1663)
Bibliotheca chemica, 1906: pp. 369-70 (Author appears under the initials J. F. H. S., with the additional title Filius or Sohin Sendivogii; the last phrase has been supposed to denote actual kinship, but this is not in accordance with what is otherwise known about the author, and it means only that he reverenced Sendivogius as his father, instructor, and example; wrote in Latin and German; editor identifies him as Josaphat Fridericus Heutnortton in Lucerna salis philosophorum; name appears also as Hautnortton and Hautnorthon; S. stands for Suecus or Suevus; same initials also appear in the 1695 edition of Hollandus' Opus vegetabile, as those of the editor, and 'Northon or Hautnorthon. by birth a Swede, and son-in-law of the world-renowned Polish adept Sendivogius.' Other sources indicate that Hautnorthon is a pseudonym, and that the author was Johann Harprecht; according to Borrichius Johann Harprecht was son of the Tübingen professor, secretary for a time to Baron Cronstem at Riga in 1657; went to Netherlands where he published De sale philosophorum and Lucerna salis philosophorum under the name Filius Sendivogii; born 1610; Petraeus identifies Harprecht with the "Filius Sendivogii" but claims that he married, changed his name to Johann Hiskias Cardilucius, and published a number of medical and chemical books)
