Pupil of the humanist and reformer Philippus Melanchthon in Wittenberg. Acquires the workshop of Georg Ulricher d'Andlau in Strasbourg in 1536. Appointed printer of Melanchthon. Died at the battle of Mühlberg an der Elbe (Saxony, April 24, 1547, victory of Charles V over the Protestant troops). His widow took over the printing business under her own name until her remarriage in January 1549 to the Strasbourg printer-bookseller Blaise Fabricius ; active 1536-1548 ; variant names: Müller, Crafft; Cratomilianus, Crato; Myller, Craft)
