Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: page 777 (James Fisher Robinson, governor of Kentucky 1862-1863 born in Scott County, Ky. An 1818 graduate of Transylvania University, became a successful farmer and lawyer in Scott County, Ky. In 1851 won election to the state Senate as a Whig. In 1861 he was elected again to the state Senate as a Democrat and elected speaker of the Senate on August 16, 1862 and sworn in as governor on August 18, 1862 and term ended September 1, 1863. Headed the Farmers' Bank of Georgetown and chaired the Georgetown College Board of Trustees. Died in Georgetown, Ky.)
