Wikipedia, Jan. 4, 2010 (Clipperton Island (French: Île de Clipperton or Île de la Passion) (Spanish: Isla de la Pasión) is a nine-square-kilometre (approx. 3.5 square mile) coral atoll in the Eastern Pacific Ocean, southwest of Mexico and west of Central America, at 10⁰18ʹN 109⁰13ʹW . It has no permanent inhabitants. The island is an overseas possession of France under the direct authority of the French government, administered by the Minister of Overseas France)
