Lippincott (lists Emmaus; on site of modern village of Imwas; not the Emmaus of the New Testament)
New Catholic Encyclopedia (The location of the Emmaus mentioned in LK.24.13-35 is disputed. Among the various sites identified with this Emmaus are: (1) Modern ʻAmwas. Early Christian tradition chose this site. However this represents a good 5-hour walk. (2) Modern el-Qubeibeh - about a 2-hour walk. (3) Modern Qalônieh, directly west of Jerusalem.)
